1 Billion Viewers around World Watched TOSHIBA VISION in Times Square New Year’s Eve.

Celebrants gathered together to watch the global countdown event as the official sponsor for the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration.

The iconic 60-second countdown to midnight enhanced by audio and pyrotechnic effects on the TOSHIBA VISION screen, located directly below the world-famous Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball. The countdown started at 6 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. The screens featured the New Year’s Eve content and entertainment for the more than one million-plus expected revelers including hourly practice countdowns, live and prerecorded video clips of musical performances from Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Demi Lovato, Wiz Khalifa with Charlie Puth and celebrities.

Prominently positioned below the world-famous New Year countdown ball in New York City’s Times Square business and entertainment district, Toshiba’s known as “TOSHIBA VISION,” served a variety of promotional and public-service functions. In addition to the annual New Year’s countdown for upwards of 1 billion celebrants worldwide, an interlocking system connects both boards in brilliant seasonal displays and animated sporting events.
